Mrs Abram Barrick, aged 57 years and 7 months died at her home on North Fourth St., Sunday morning, having been ill only since the Tuesday previous of a complication, altho it is thought she suffered a slight stroke Saturday. Before marriage she was Miss Annie Mae Swartz, being a daughter of William and Catherine Swartz and was born at Mannsville, having lived in this county and in Newport or vicinity all her life, excepting six years as a young woman, which were spent in Illinois. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Helen Elizabeth, Mrs Rusell Turnbaugh, this place, and Nellie Catherine, Mrs Elwood Marion, of Akron, Ohio. The marriage of Miss Swartz and Mr Barrick was solemnized in Bloomfield 31 years ago and the deceased was a woman with a most lovable disposition and enjoyed the companionship of a large circle of friends. She was an ideal wife and mother and her chief joy was in her home and family, who will miss her more than words can tell. Six grandchildren survive as do also a brother and sister, Elmer Swartz of Harrisburg and Phoebe, Mrs W S Shade, of this place. The following half brothers and half sisters survive: Harvey Orwan, near Mechanicsburg; Emma Orwan, Mrs Ira Clemson of Steelton; Mary Elder, Mrs John Gates, Harrisburg; Edward Elder, Steelton, and David Elder, Lawnton. Funeral services were held from the home Wednesday morning. Deceased was a member of the Lutheran church, and her pastor, Rev L Stoy Spangler, conducted the services with interment in Newport cemetery. Six nephews acted as pallbearers, Dr Russell, Morris, David and Walter Shade, Gerald Barrick and William Sheibley. Among those here from a distance to attend the funeral were Mr and Mrs Elwood Marioin and children Elwood, Jr, and LaDean and Mrs Roy Marion, Akron, Ohio; Mr and Mrs P O Sheibley and daughter, Mrs Martin Funk and son and Gerald Barrick of Johnstown; Mr and Mrs Bruce Landis and three children, Stonebar; Mr and Mrs Elmer Swartz and two daughters, Mr and Mrs Percy Clouser, Mrs Robert Bega and son, Mrs Harry Arndt, Mrs Chas. Pee, Mrs Lewis Sweger, of Harrisburg; Mrs Ira Clemson and daughter Gertrude, Steelton; Dr and Mrs Russell Shade, Philadelphia; Mr and Mrs Morris Shade, City; Mr and Mrs Harvey Orwan, Mechanicsburg; Mr and Mrs Edward Klinepeter, Mannsville; Mr and Mrs Allen Baker and children, Wila.
