Memorial services for Doyce Neil Barrett, 95, were held at Emerald Bay Church where he was a member. Burial followed at Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, TX. Mr. Barrett passed away August 31, 2017, in Tyler, TX. He was born February 22, 1922, in Wolfe City, TX to Charles B. and Ruby H. Barrett.

In November 1943 he earned his Navy Wings and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Marine Corp. He flew PBJ's in the Pacific Theater during World War II.

After being honorable discharged from military service, Doyce enrolled at Texas Tech University in 1946 and graduated in 1948 with a bachelor's degree in accounting. In 1948 he went to Hobbs, NM, and joined his brother in the accounting firm of Barrett and Barrett.

In October 1952 he was recalled to military service in the Korean conflict where he flew helicopters and attached the rank of Captain.

He was survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty Barrett; two sons, one daughter, three grandchildren,, eight great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren.
