Leroy and most of his siblings were born in Niles, Trumbull County, Ohio but were raised mostly in Swanton, Ohio. I just want to clear this up for those who think differently. Even though his marriage certificate and his death certificate say Swanton, the facts are that he was born in Niles.

My father, Leroy, was a just man. He Loved his family a great deal, always working hard to make sure everyone had what they needed. He was also a very religious man, from about 1950 onward. Sometimes that got in the way of other relationships.

My father had a great sense of humor and he loved to play games. He had a really cool thing that he would do where he squeaked his hands. The kids all loved that! My father loved to do little "magic" tricks with magnets and he delighted in the laughter of children. His laughter was contagious and his smile big.

I didn't always agree with him but I loved him and I miss him.
