MARTIN LEON BARR, 55, of Philpot died Saturday, Sept. 26, 1992, at Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital. He was born in McLean County, was a retired construction contractor, was a member of the Kentucky Cattleman's Association and was a longtime member of the Cursillo Movement. He was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, Whitesville. His first wife, Mary Agnes Barr, died in 1989. Survivors include his wife, Marty Barr; three sons, Richard L. Barr and Charlie Barr, both of Whitesville and Donald Barr of Owensboro; three daughters, Carla Barr and Anita Barr, both of Owensboro and Brenda Payne of Whitesville; three grandchildren; four brothers, Louis B. Barr and Herman J. Barr, both of Owensboro and Gerald Barr and Fred Barr, both of Whitesville; and seven sisters, Sister Mildred Barr of Maple Mount, Helen Lewis of Winslow, Ind., Mary L. Hamilton, Ruth Ann Mayfield and Janet Lee Goff, all of Owensboro, Wilma J. Howard of Guston and Angela Dillard of Franklin. Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, Whitesville. Burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is after 10 a.m. Monday at Cecil Funeral Home, Whitesville, where prayers will be said at 6:30 p.m. Monday. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Kentuckiana Hemophilia Foundation. Memorial contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.
