B.L. Barnhart dies here at 87
Benjamin L. Barnhart, 87, retired farmer and former employee of the Standard Mercantile Co. died here early today at his home at 640 Lesser Drive.
Mr. Barnhart was born in McLean Co. IL on June 14, 1873. He moved to Fort Collins in 1899 after living in Nebraska for 5 years. On Oct. 10, 1902, he married Mabel Dixon Johnson. She died in 1957.
Until 1924, Mr. Barnhart farmed near Fort Collins. He then worked for Standard Mercantile until it closed. He was a member of the Moose Lodge.
Surving are 4 daughters, Mrs. Melvin Morger, Mrs. Robert Hollister, and Mrs. Paul Morehouse all of Fort Collins, and Mrs. Harry Marsh of San Mateo, CA; a step-daughter, Mrs. Lester Cline of Greeley; a step-son Fred Johnson of Casper, WY, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Rev. Charles Tresner is in charge of the funeral at Balmer Collins & Riddell mortuary. The Moose Lodge will conduct a graveside service at Grandview cemetery.
