Daily Democrat, Clinton MO, Jul 30 2013 - Carl Wayne Barnhart, 76, Clinton, passed away May 16, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital of Kansas City. Carl was born on May 18, 1936, son of Tilden Marty and Frieda (Schroder) Barnhart). Carl was an only child. He grew up around Garland, northwest of Clinton. He joined the Garland Baptist Church in early childhood. Carl graduated from Clinton High School in 1954 and started farming. He married Beverly Batschelett of LaDue on June 24, 1956. They had two children, Carol Ann and Christopher Steven. His parents and son, Chris, preceded him in death. He leaves his wife of the home, Beverly, and a daughter, Carol Ann DeVette of St. Charles; four grandchildren, Lance Wagoner, Clinton, Nicholas McLaughlin of St. Louis, Christin Berg of Clinton and Chance Barnhart of Clinton, and seven great-grandchildren. Carl enjoyed gardening after his retirement and giving away his vegetables. Funeral services were held May 20 at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home and interment was in Englewood Cemetery of Clinton.
