Alene Barnett, 89, of Boise, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2011, at her home.
She was born Alene Olive Mayes on March 20, 1922 in Sharon, Oklahoma. In August of 1943 she was united in marriage to David C. Barnett. Alene was a member of the Whitney Baptist Church since moving to Boise in 1962. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and spending time with her family.
Alene is survived by her daughter, Janet E. Bartlett; her son and his wife, Sidney and Sue; her son and his wife, Vernon and Wanda; her daughter in-law, Jan Barnett; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Verta Ellsworth; one sister in-law, Carmen Mayes. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Alene was preceded in death by her husband, David; a daughter, Velma; a son, Daniel; a great-grandson, Joey, and a brother, Oren.
A graveside service for Alene will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday, January 6, 2012 at Cloverdale Memorial Park, 1200 N. Cloverdale Road in Boise. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the Whitney Baptist Church, 2309 W. Dorian St. in Boise.
