Funeral services for Andrew Bernard Barnes, well-known Seattle musician and composer who died yesterday, will be Monday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Mr. Barnes was 53 years old. Born in England, he came to Seattle as a youth. He was the composer of nationally published songs of a classical and semi-classical nature and also was the author of books on piano and organ instruction. Mr. Barnes had taught music here for several years and had played the organ and piano in theatres in Seattle before sound motion pictures. He was a member of Eureka Lodge, F&AM, and a life-member of the Muscicians' Association. He was a veteran of the First World War. Surviving are his widow, Lelia; a daughter, Mrs. Eleanor Newitt; two sons, Bernard, Jr. and Robert Barnes, all of Seattle; and a sister in England. Burial will be in Forest Lawn.
