He was born in Copeland to Elmer and Bessie Hodges. He was a member of Elmdale Baptist Church, was a retired auto mechanic and was a carpenter. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He retired from the military as a master sergeant after 20 years. He was a member of the VFW, and his hobbies were fishing and reading.

Survivors include his wife, Dixie Barnes, to whom he was married 46 years; two sons, one daughter, three brothers, one sister.

He was 71 when he passed away at Springdale, AR. I have a complete copy of his obit with his picture from The Morning News.
