Funeral services for William Huston Barnes, 88, of 313 Hedgemont Avenue, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Higgins Funeral Home. Rev. C. B. Smith officiated.

Burial was in Riverview Memorial Gardens, with Higgins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Barnes died early Thursday at the Lincoln County Hospital after a long illness.

He was a native of Lincoln County and a member of the Methodist Church. He had been an employee of the City of Fayetteville for a number of years. His wife, Mrs. Mamie Hutchinson Barnes, died in 1944.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. C. D. Simmons, Fayetteville; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
