Faye Willene Barnard, 81, Sand Springs, Oklahoma, passed from this life Thursday, December 3, 2015. Faye was born in Texola, Oklahoma, on February 25, 1934, to James Willard Decker and Nannie Josephine (Carver) Decker.
Shortly after graduating from High School, Faye married her Sweetheart, Johnny Lee Barnard, Sr. in Hominy, Oklahoma, on February 20, 1954. They were able to enjoy over 52 years of marriage before Johnny’s death in October 2006. Faye was a faithful member of the Limestone Baptist Church in Sand Springs for more than 50 years. Besides watching television and reading her Bible daily, Faye,(known as Gaumy by her grandchildren), really enjoyed the time she could be with her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. Faye was not a real animal lover but she did have a dog named "Coach" that she really loved. Her beautiful smile will be missed by family and friends.
Faye is survived by her two daughters; son-in-law; two sons; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three brothers; many other relatives and a host of friends.
Preceding Faye in death were her parents; husband Johnny Lee Barnard, Sr.; and brothers Wayne Decker and Jimmy Decker.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Funeral services for Faye will be Tuesday, December 8, 2015, 2:00pm, in the Limestone Baptist Church, Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Interment will follow in Woodland Memorial Park, Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Visitation for Faye will be Sunday, December 6, 2015, from 1:00pm until 6:00pm, and Monday, December 7, 2015, from 8:00am until 8:00pm. The family will greet friends at the Funeral Home on Monday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.
