Dale Clyde Barlow
Full military honors were accorded Dale Clyde Barlow, 20 of Bountiful, during funeral services held Thursday at 4 p. m. in Bountiful Second ward chapel. Bishop William R. Smith, officiated, and burial was in Bountiful cemetery, directed by Union mortuary of Bountiful.
Honorary and active pallbearers were aviation cadet classmates from U S A C in Logan where Mr. Barlow had been in training for three months.
Major Diche and Lieutenant Peterson from the college were present and a firing squad from Fort Douglas, sounded "Taps" at the cemetery.
President James Burns of South Davis L D S stake presidency was principal speaker and Bishop Smith also addressed the assemblage. Musical numbers were, violin solos, "Ava Maria" and "God Remembers When The World Forgets", played by Earl Stacey and vocal solos "Going Home," by Milton Fisher and "The Lord's Prayer."
Ivan Richardson gave the invocation and benediction was by Bishop Amby Briggs of Bountiful Third ward. Ward C. Holbrook dedicated the grave and Bishop John R. Walsh gave a prayer at the home before departure for the chapel.
Mr. Barlow was found dead Tuesday near Mueller park and he was on leave from his station at the time.
He was born at Bountiful, October 2, 1923, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Clyde Barlow.
Mr. Barlow enlisted May, 1942 as aviation cadet and first training was received at Fresno, Calif. In April 1, 1943 he was to the U S A C at Logan, where he had since been stationed.
Cadet Barlow was a graduate of Davis high school where he was an "A" student, and at a later regional meet in Provo with his team won a special award for excellence in book keeping. He was also outstanding in other commercial subjects. Later he attended a Salt Lake business college and was an active member of the L D S church.
Surviving are his parents of Bountiful; three brothers, Cal and Gary Barlow of Bountiful and Paul Barlow attending officers training school at Aberdeen, Maryland; four sisters, Noma, June, Marjorie and Virginia Barlow, all of Bountiful, and two grandparents, Mrs. John H. Barlow of Bountiful and Paul Zysling of Salt Lake City.
