December 16, 1918 - January 30, 2009

Agnes Eva (Fish) Barker, age 90, of Vancouver, WA, passed away on Jan. 30, 2009. She was born Dec. 16, 1918 to Jasper A. and Ella Marie Fish in Denver, CO and raised in the Denver area.

She married Kenneth Edward (Eddie) Barker Nov. 22, 1937. They moved to Vancouver, WA in the early 1940's so Eddie could work at the Kaiser Shipyards.

She was a wonderful mother, grandma, and homemaker, Camp Fire Leader, Cub Scout mom and worked for the Clark County Election Board for many years as an election precinct clerk.

She lived for 60 years in the same home in the Heights area of Vancouver, before moving to the Noble Family Adult Home in 2006.

She loved to dance, especially in her younger years. She collected dolls, especially from places traveled to by her or others. She enjoyed traveling, plants, flowers and watching the birds outside her home.

She had a kind heart and loved to cook

and feed anyone who came to visit.

Agnes is survived by her daughter, Eva Monlux (Dave); son, James Barker (Gina); six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Moncrief and Aneta Andersen; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Eddie, in 1989; son, Kenneth E., in 1946; daughter, Janet L. Brown, in 2007.

Thanks to her hospice nurses and especially to Maggie and George Tarcus of Noble Family Adult Home for all their wonderful care.

A memorial service will be held on Fri., Feb. 6, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Chapel.
