Jess James Barker passed away Aug. 16, 1997. Born on Oct. 2, 1910, in Galena, Mo. Married to Sylvia Lee (Comstock) Barker, March 18, 1935. Mr. Barker lived in Pueblo since 1939. He worked for the railroad (American Refrigerator Transit Co.) for 27 years and owned and operated a service station for 10 years. He loved fishing, hunting and gardening, and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all. Preceded in death by his parents, William Wylie Barker, Mary Ann (Essick) Barker; wife, Sylvia Lee Barker; brothers, James Barker, Clarence Barker, John Barker, Charley Barker; sister, Goldie Carter; grandchild, Virginia Lardner. Survived by children, Charles (Martha) Barker, Mary Lou (Charles) Gash; grandchildren, Corey Gash, Sylvia (Frank) Couey, Stuart Barker, Stacy (Deanna) Barker, Anna (Dean) McKinley, James (Tina) Lardner; great-grandchildren, Kristy, Jessica, Kayla, Tyler Barker, Elizabeth Lardner, Nicholas Lardner; brother, Robert Vigil Barker; sisters, Mattie Nims, Gertrude Taylor, Rhoda Brock; numerous nieces and nephews.
