Agnes M. Baribeau, 89, passed away on a Friday, at the Bishop Noa Home.

She was the eighth child born to the late Phillip and Rose (LaFreniere) Baribeau. She grew up in Escanaba and graduated in 1944 from Escanaba High School.

In her early years she worked for the Venus Sewing Company, R C Manufacturing Company and Michigan Bell Telephone Company, retiring in June of 1983.

She enjoyed sports, in her younger years played softball for Delta Hardware, golfed and was a member of the Highland Golf Club and bowled. She traveled to Germany, Hawaii and Mexico, enjoyed shopping, family get-togethers, knitting dish clothes, watching TV and old movies, the Packers and listening to music. She was an active member of St. Joseph and St. Patrick Church.

Agnes is survived by her sister, Freda Whitlow and brother-in-law, Frank "Smitty" Schmitt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Ernest, John (Jack), William "Bill" and George Baribeau, and five sisters, Rose (Louis) Johnson, Violet (John) Meyer, Irene (Paul) Cole, Emma (Stephen) Clairmont and Virginia Schmitt; brother-in-law, Leo Whitlow; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation at the Crawford Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph and St. Patrick's Church with Rev. Erick Olson officiating. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery.
