Child of John R. S. and Susan M. (GOSSETT) BARR, who married 27 JUL 1876 in Muscogee County, Georgia.

Mary Jane Galer's list of persons interred in the New Cemetery area of Linwood shows: [child of?] J. R. S. BARE [sic] was stillborn; buried 17 APR 1888 in Section 2, Lot 1097 - Sexton Abraham ODOM. Original burial entry in sexton's ledger book shows this child was stillborn in Alabama and buried as a non-resident of Columbus, GA.

This grave is probably not identifiably marked.

It seems like that BARE and BARR are two spellings for the same name in the Linwood records.

Lot owner lists for Section 2 shows R. D. WALKER & Archy BARR paid $15 on 08 APR 1862 for Lot 1044, and on the same day, Rev. WALKER & A. BARR paid $15 for Lot 1084. On 14 JUN 1881 or 1884?, J. P. BARR & A. M. L. BARR paid $5 each for Lots 1084½ & 1197½. Archibald Mc. L. BARR m. 26 NOV 1874 in Musc. Co, GA, to Josephine YOUNG.

It appears that lots 1044 & 1084 make up Autry B-142. Autry reports this lot has a wall, but with no name on the threshold, and the Kennedy map indicates the wall encompasses only 1044 & 1084. So the lot made up of 1084½ & 1197½ would be a separate but related lot. This appears to be the west half of Autry B-140, which she reports to be an open lot with no evidence of graves. The east half of Autry B-140 was probably owned by Mrs. M. P. or R. DAVIS. Record shows she paid $5 each for Lots 1087½ & 1098½, but this should be 1083½ & 1098½.
