She was a devoted mother to her children and their spouses: Michael Barber of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Kathleen Crowder (Fred) of Lompoc, California, and Eileen White (Stephen) of Los Gatos, California. Gerry was the proud grandmother of many grandchildren: Joanna Lyles (Josh), Jeff Crowder (Christine), Mike Crowder (Kate), Allison Payne (Greg), and Amy White. Her great-grandchild, Shaylyn Lyles was her pride and joy. She was the beloved sister-in-law of Mary Fosselman, John Barber, and Lloyd Barber.
Born in Medford, Oregon on February 27, 1921, Gerry married Tom Barber and resided in Southern Cal, Turkey, and Maryland before settling in Los Altos, Cal.
She owned and operated Alto Travel in Palo Alto, Cal, for 25 years and enjoyed many years of travel throughout the world. Her warm smile and bubbly personality will be remembered by her family and friends.
All are invited to attend a memorial service at Alta Mesa Cemetery in Palo Alto on July 17th at 3:30 p.m. and a memorial at sea, which will be held on July 26th, 2003 at 6:30 p.m. We will leave the Santa Barbara harbor at 301 W.
