Clara Anne Barber, 65, of Cameron, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2007,* at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Newton officiating.

A visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today (Wednesday, Sept. 26) at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Southern Pines.

Mrs. Barber was born in Hoke County, and was a daughter of the late John and Alma Pierce Chavis.

She received a degree in psychology from Sandhills Community College, and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She also worked as a wallpaper hanger in the Sandhills for many years. She was an avid bowler and Duke Blue Devils fan, and she enjoyed cooking for her family. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and taking special trips with her sisters.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Terry McLemore and Tilghman McLemore.
