DANIEL G. BANKO , 78, of West Wyoming, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2009, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born Dec. 21, 1930, in West Wyoming, he was a son of the late Steve and Katherine Bednar Banko. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was preceded in death by brothers, Albert, Frank, Steve; sisters, Rose, Elizabeth, Mary. He is survived by a sister, Irene Kopetchne, West Wyoming; nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, with the Rev. William Karle officiating. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Swoyersville. Friends may call Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
