"Mrs. Pearl B. Baird, aged 78, of this village died January 5, in the Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital here, after a short illness. Mrs. Baird was born May 28, 1877, in Rochester, daughter of William and Celia (Denton) Banker. She was twice married. Her first marriage was to Burke McKelvey. He died in 1905. In 1912, she was married to Joseph E. Baird of East Springfield. He died in 1927. Surviving are two sons, Frank McKelvey of Cooperstown and Charles McKelvey of Glendale, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Celia McShane of Springfield Center; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Fred Banker of Rochester ... The body was placed in the funeral home vault until Spring for burial in Fly Creek Cemetery. Honorary bearers were her grandchildren, Alfred McRorie, James Shaw, William Carter, and Lowell Dingman.
