He was an auctioneer for the Pratt County Fair and a founding board member. He recently received the Steve Kraisinger Award from the Pratt County Fair Association.In the 1950s he and his brother Art owned and operated the International dealership and Desoto and Plymouth dealership in Pratt for many years.
On Sept. 1, 1946, he married Leola Chiles, the mother of Ray and Roger Banbury. She died in 1955. On May 10, 1956, he married Velma June Smitherman, the mother of Jerry and Ted Bertram, at Raton, N.M. She died Oct. 6, 1996.He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Art, Clay and Lloyd Banbury; and two sisters, Helen Smith and Beulah Hayes.
