Saundra "Sandy" Kay Pratt 69, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday February 27, 2016. Sandy had been battling cancer for several months.

Saundra was born on July 2, 1946 to Robert and Helen Balm in Cedar Rapids, Ia.

Sandy had a very compassionate heart and soul and would do anything she could to help someone in need. She touched so many lives in such a positive way. She had many friends that she looked at as family. The love she had for the people in her life was endless. Her love of animals was no exception to that love. She was very compassionate about all of God's furry, four legged creatures.

She enjoyed reading and watching detective stories. She had a very special admiration for law enforcement officers as she had been raised around many of them and befriended many Cedar Rapids Police Officers over the years.

She also enjoyed fishing, bingo, music, and listening to the Leo Greco show on Sunday mornings. She especially loved hanging out and singing Karaoke with the many friends that she made who shared her passion of singing.

She was very devoted to her one and only love and best friend Burdett"BJ" and her family. She would love to share pictures and stories about her nieces and nephews. Sandy's heart was like that of a innocent child's that she would try hard to only see the good in people. Sandy will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.

Survivors include her beloved significant other Burdett "BJ" Johnson, sisters Judith Love of Cleveland OH. Della Alvarez and Martha Erb (Brad), both of Cedar Rapids. Brothers Jack Primmer (Tina) Cedar Rapids, Steve Pifer of Ely, and many nieces and nephews and her two cats Fluffy and Patches "The Moose" that she adored.

Saundra was preceded in death by her father Robert Balm, her mother Helen D. Pifer, an infant brother Jimmy Balm, a niece Clarice Jones, and her grandparents Ethel and George Reed and Oliver and Carrie Balm.

Please join us as we celebrate Sandy's life on Saturday March 5, 2016. The service will be held at 2:00 pm by Rev. John Louk at the Salem United Methodist Church. 3715 33rd Ave. SW. The visitation/fellowship will be from 1:00-2:00 pm.

Please don't cry as you tell me good bye. I am now safely home with Jesus singing in the sky.
