Dixie Lee Dill Ballenger, 56, of Dilworth died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at the University Hospital in Birmingham.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel with burial in the Lee Cemetery in Dilworth. Rev. Waymon Ashley will officiate. New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
Mrs. Ballenger was a graduate of the Bevill State Nursing Program and was a retired L.P.N. from the Walker Baptist Medical Center. She was a member of Phillips Chapel Holy Church of Christ and a member of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Cecil Dill and Beethene Dill Lee, step-father, Oddis R. Lee and grandson, Alex Ballenger.
Mrs. Ballenger is survived by her husband of 38 years, Lecil Ballenger; one daughter, Connie Jo Spears and her husband, Jeff of Dilworth; one son, Phillip Wayne Ballenger and his wife, Michelle of Dilworth; three sisters, Jean Dill Lewis of Breman, Brenda Gay Hunt and Doreene Lee Akins both of Dilworth; two brothers, Douglas Dill and Ray Lee both of Dilworth; four grandchildren, Tyler, Chad and Savannah Spears and Annie Ballenger all of Dilworth; and several nieces and nephews.
