Elizabeth Fay Ballard, 83, died Tuesday, June 21, 2011, in a local nursing center. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 24t, at the Trent Cemetery with Reverend Ronnie Freeman officiating, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home of Merkel.

Elizabeth was born March 19, 1928 in rural Trent, Nolan County, TX to Frank and Maudie M. (Lewis) Wilson. She married Randolph Ballard in April 1972.

She worked for Continental Assurance Company then managed a nursery school at the Church of the Nazarenein Tinley Park, Illinois. Elizabeth also worked as a daycare manager for autistic children at Tinley Park State Hospital for five to six years. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband, Randolph Ballard of Sweetwater; two sons, Gregory DeGraf of San Francisco, CA and Brian DeGraf of Palm Springs, CA; two step daughters, Linda Warren and Lana Rene McCain, both of Sweetwater; three grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; and six step great-grandchildren.
