Daughter of Samuel B. Hensley and Susan Davis, Susan Ann Hensley married James Ballard on 30 Jan 1855 in Osage County, MO; Susan Davis is reportedly a great granddaughter of Rebecca and Daniel Boone. The Ballard family lived in Osage County where James farmed until sometime after 1870. The family then moved westward through Nebraska and on to the state of WA. Their daughter, Ida V Ballard, remained in MO, and married David Luster Haynes. Susan Ballard reported on the 1910 census that she had 11 children and that one was living. This one child was Katie (Ballard) Ransom Morgan.
