Dale passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Genesis Medical Center East Campus.
Dale Lavern Ballanger was born May 17, 1944 in Davenport a son of Charles "Bert" and Josephine Ballanger.
He was united in marriage to Shirley A. York in Davenport. She preceded him in death May 8, 2009.
Dale had worked as a truck driver over the years for various area companies, most recently, McCarthy Bush Construction.
Dale was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying camping boating, hunting, drinking and especially fishing. He was generous, outgoing and always willing to help others.
Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Survivors include children and their spouses, two sons, Dale and Dean, step children and their spouses, Christine Heald, Phoenix, AZ; Sam and Jo Heald, Bettendorf; Debbie Heald, and Cheryl Heald (Scott Black); all of Davenport; Kim and Leon Boughner, Henderson, IL; Bruce Heald (Kim Stroupe); Shane and Juanita Heald, Barb Heald, and Carolyn Heald, all of Davenport; a sister, Mary Lou Henderson, Centerville, MO and two brothers, Donald (Louise) Ballanger, LeClaire and Ronnie (Suzanne) Ballanger, Centerville, MO; 24 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and one great- great granddaughter; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Shirley, a sister, Patty and a brother, Clifford.
