Born Sept. 17, 1921, at Big Branch, he was the son of the late Oliver C. and Myrtle Pauley Ball. He was retired from the Boone County Board of Education, belonged to the Freewill Baptist Church, and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice K. Ball of Powell Creek, W.Va.; sons, Kenneth Andrew Ball of Gold Hill, N.C., George Allen Ball of Columbus, Ohio, and Silman Eugene Ball of Liberty, N.C.; daughters, Gladys Kay Brown of Spruce-Laurel, W.Va., and Kelly Mae Singleton of Julian, W.Va.; sister, Martha Carroll of St. Albans; brother, Silman C. Ball of Easley, S.C.; and granddaughter, Victoria Autumn Ball of Liberty, N.C.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, at Stevens Funeral Home, Madison, W.Va., with the Rev. Howard White and Donald Kerns officiating. Burial will follow at the Pauley Cemetery on Big Branch, near Greenview.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 14, at the funeral home.
