David A. Balick
Age 90, passed away peacefully Wednesday night, December 31, 2014 at the Kutz Home in Wilmington, DE.
Born April 22, 1924 in Brooklyn, NY, he was son of the late Rubin Balick and Jenny Klein. Dave was a retired business owner of several Pappy's restaurants in the Tri-State area. He served during World War II as a member of the 294th Combat Engineers.
Dave is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruth Balick; four children, Marc Balick of Oxford, PA, Judith Balick Fried (Paul) of New York, NY, Jayne Balick of New York, NY and Bruce Balick of Cochranville, PA. He was a devoted grandfather to Rena and Ian Fried and Benjamin Balick.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Friday, January 2, 2015 at Congregation Beth Emeth 300 W. Lea Boulevard,
Wilmington, DE 19802. Interment will immediately follow at the Jewish Community Cemetery and shiva will be observed at Congregation Beth Emeth after the interment service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dave's memory can be made to The Ministry of Caring, 505 N. Church Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.
