Adolph John Baletka, 85, beloved and respected dad and grandpa, passed away September 29, 2010.

He was born December 13, 1924 in Temple, Texas. "AJ" married Anita Gardikis on September 6, 1949 in Pioche, Nevada. Anita preceded him in death on July 3, 2006.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked for 30 years as a Mechanic Supervisor at Kennecott Copper.

"AJ" was Co-founder/President of the Granger Youth Football League for over 12 years.

He is survived by his sons: Sonny Baletka, of Grand Junction, CO, John Everett Baletka (JoAnne), of Orangeville, and Steve Sandquist (Tracy), of South Jordan; grandchildren: April Baletka Stutzman (Firman), Jerad John Baletka (Jennifer), John Wesley Baletka, Jordan John Baletka, Brenna Sandquist, Josh Sandquist and Megan Sandquist; great-grandchildren, Ethan John Stutzman and Christian Luke Stutzman; and many who called "AJ" grandpa.

Preceded in death by his wife, Anita; and daughter, Terry Lynn Baletka Bennett.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St., where a viewing will be held Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and again on Monday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Mountain View Memorial Estates Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Spencer Wishes at spencerwishes.org or to the Eastern Utah Credit Union at 1-435-637 2443.
