Dale Claude Baldwin, 84, passed away March 5, 2013 in his home with loving family by his side. He was born April 2, 1928 in Salt Lake City Utah to Claude Leslie Baldwin and Constance Avilla Crezee. He married Carol Brady from Union Utah in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They were blessed with 5 children. Dale graduated from South High School. After graduation he joined the Marine Air Corps during WWII and was assigned to a fighter squadron VMF-214, the famous "Black Sheep Squadron' and trained carrier pilots. While in the Marines he became an 'Expert Rifleman' and earned rank of Corporal. Dale attended the University of Utah for two years studying Civil Engineering. He worked for Utah Power and Light developing high voltage sub stations as a senior design specialist. Dale and Carol lived in Cottonwood/Holiday area for 20 years. Dale then built their dream home in Summit Park Utah and they lived there for 30 years. They moved to St. George Utah in 2001 where Carol resides today. Dale is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints and has served honorably in several priesthood callings and the scouting program. Dale loved to build miniature railroads, gas powered ships and airplane models. His crowning wood craft was a 21 foot ski boat he built in his garage in Summit Park. He was a true craftsman. He was also a volunteer fireman for the Park City Fire District. He is survived by his loving wife Carol Brady Baldwin, Daughter Julie Ann Lynch, St. George Utah, Son Jeffrey Dale Baldwin, Logan Utah, and Daughter Carolyn Taylor, Deweyville Utah. Dale and Carol have 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded by his Parents, his sister Constance Avilla Baldwin and 2 sons, Tracy Dale Baldwin and Mitchell Dale Baldwin.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 9, 2013 at 11am with a viewing from 9 to 10:30am prior to the service at the Bloomington Hills Stake Center, 1130 East Brigham Road, St. George Utah 84790. Interment will be Monday March 11, 2013 at 11am in the Murray City Cemetery, 5490 S. Vine Street, Murray, Utah 84107. There will be a graveside ceremony and dedication for all friends and family who would like to attend. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary.
