Ben F. Baldwin, 85, a retired geologist, died Friday, Feb. 7, 1997, at home.
Memorial service: 2 p.m. Monday at St. Stephen Presbyterian Church. Graveside service: 3 p.m. Monday in Greenwood Memorial Park.
Memorials: Community Hospice or St. Stephen Presbyterian Church.
Ben F. Baldwin was born Dec. 1, 1911, in Clarendon. He graduated from Texas Technological University. He was a geologist with Amoco Production for 391/2 years and with Union Pacific Resources, formerly Champlin Oil, for four years and was a consultant to Abernathy Exploration for 14 years.
Ben was an active member of the Petroleum Club of Fort Worth, American Association of Petroleum Geologists and St. Stephen Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Ann Baldwin.
Survivors: Wife of 58 years, Maxine S. Baldwin of Fort Worth; daughter, Mary M. Baldwin of Seattle, Wash.; sisters, Gladys McMillen of Lubbock, Julia Van Bebber of Greenville, S.C., and Mildred Laycock of Pampa; nephew and his wife, Billy Ray Baldwin and Karen of Fort Worth; and several other nieces and nephews.
