MRS. IRA HIGHTOWER DIES PNEUMONIA VICTIM
The many friends of Mrs. Ira Hightower were shocked and grieved beyond expression when it was learned that she passed away at an early hour this morning.
She contracted pneumonia just a few days ago after nursing tow of her sons, Felston and Reginald, who were ill with influenza. On Wednesday evening she had no temperature and the physicians thought she was in no immediate danger unless heart trouble developed. The latter condition prevailed and she rapidly succumbed to the drea disease, and at 8:30 this morning she peacefully passed away.
Mrs. Hightower was a woman of many rare and admirable traits of character. She was a most devoted wife and mother an a most excellent home maker. Those who knew her best loved her most. She was a consistent member of the Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hightower is survived by her husband, Mr. Ira R. Hightower, and six sons: Glen, Ernest, Alwyn, Elgyn, Felston, and Reginald, all of whom were at her bed side when the end came except the eldest son, Glen, who lives in Oil City. He and his family arrived later; also her sister, Mrs. T. C. Hightower of Gibsland.
Our hearts go out in tenderest sympathy to the bereaved ones and pray that the Heavenly Father my comfort their hearts in this dark hour. The funeral will be held at the Baptist church, at 3 o'clock, Friday p. m.
