Inez Allen Baker passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, March 12, 2010.
She was the youngest of eight children born to Thomas Lonsdale and Ruby Williams Allen in Provo, Utah.
She married the love of her life, Kenneth John Baker, on September 1, 1939. Their love was like a rare gem, enduring, strengthened, and tempered with life's trials and joys which sparkled with the clarity and dimension of a life shared and forged together.
She died, as she lived, with grace, dignity, and courage. She had an independent mind, faced her trials with determination and strength of character. She lived her life with a loving heart, with thoughtfulness, kindness, sincerity, generosity, and loyalty. The beauty of her sweet spirit will remain in our hearts and be an example to us. She loved to read, listen to music, and crocheted many beautiful afghans.
Her legacy is the family she created who love her dearly. She taught us the importance of a loving, supportive family that cares, supports, understands and accepts each other; that kindness matters and that with fortitude, strength of character and integrity to one's values, one can live a life with inner beauty and grace.
Among those who mourn her are her four daughters, Pamela Foote, Patricia Farr, Shari Baker, Marci Zufelt, eleven grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren who were precious to her and whom she loved dearly; a sister, June Dawson, the nephews and nieces that descend from the Baker and Allen families.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Street, where friends and family may call on Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment will follow in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
