Jean was born June 28, 1925 in Monette, Arkansas to the late Alden & Stella Lile Baker. She & her husband, S.C. Tucker came to Danville in 1947, she was a member of the United Methodist Church, she was active in the United Methodist Women. She taught Art, Reading, and Social Studies for many years at the Danville High School. After retirement she taught English as a second language, she also loved art and painting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, S.C. Tucker; and her parents.
Survivors include her son, Joe & Eileen Tucker of Peachtree Corners, Georgia; daughter, Alden & David Spriggs of Prosper, Texas; sister Joan Watson of Paducah, Kentucky; grandchildren, Lauren & John Hitchins of Smyrna, Georgia; Brian Tucker of Cumming, Georgia; Ann Spriggs of Fort Worth, Texas; James Spriggs of Plano, Texas; John Spriggs of Dallas, Texas; Caleb & Elisabeth Spriggs of Lynchburg, Virginia; Katie Rocha-Cruz of Fort, Worth , Texas; Micah Spriggs of Lilburn, Georgia; four great-grandchildren; nephews, Brooks Watson of Paducah, Kentucky and Charles Watson of Carbondale, Illinois; and a host of family and friends.
Graveside service will be 2:00 pm Friday, November 5, 2021 at the Earl Ladd Cemetery with Rev. Tom Sullinger officiating. Visitation will to 5:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include John Spriggs, Caleb Spriggs, Micah Spriggs, Jeff Shelton, Steve Pfeifer and James Mitchell.
Honorary pallbearers include, Bob Pledger, Robert Mitchell, Phil Moudy and Ray Tucker.
