R.C. Baker, 71, of Calhoun, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016, at his residence.

A native of Alabama, and a longtime resident of McMinn County, he was a son of the late Lesly and Lillian Cunningham Baker and was also preceded in death by a son, Shane Baker; and two brothers, Henry Baker and Ed Baker.

He was a member of Bethel Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Regina Wilcox Baker of Calhoun; two daughters, Lisa Burke and her husband, Allen, of Ringgold, Ga., and Amy Baker and her partner, Cyndi Hitson, of Sweetwater; two sons, Adam Baker of Calhoun, and Aaron Baker of Calhoun; eight grandchildren, Anthony Burke, Anthony Harrell, Nathan Harrell, Ethan Burke, Caleb Baker, Cristian Baker, Brianna Baker and Dakota Baker; one great-granddaughter, Lilly Anna Burke; and two brothers, Homer Baker and his wife, Shirley, of Cleveland, and Felix Baker of Cleveland.

Funeral services will be noon Thursday at Bethel Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Guffey officiating.

Burial will follow in Bethel Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Patrick McElhaney, Frankie Jarvis, Jason Jarvis, Joshua Wilcox, Jeremy Wilcox, and Ryan Wilcox. Honorary pallbearer will be Jimmy Copeland.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Ziegler Funeral Home of Athens has been entrusted with the care of R.C. Baker.
