Evalyn Irene Baker, daughter of Benton and Sabrina (Perryman) Taylor, was born Jan. 10, 1897 near Runnells, Iowa. Later she lived at Prairie City, Iowa and Perry, Iowa where she was baptized in the Christian Church when 18 years of age.

She was united in marriage to Wilson O. Baker on Nov. 27, 1918 at Perry making their home on a farm near Superior until February 1966, when they moved to Spirit Lake.

She died at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Spirit Lake on April 29, 1974 at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 19 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, father and mother, one brother and one sister. She is survived by two sisters, (Maude) Mrs. John Baker of Spirit Lake and (Mayme) Mrs. Harold Hass of Perry, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 2, at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. B. J. Swede officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Donald Clauson and the Rev. Mr. Swede. Pallbearers were Floyd Thompson, Verland Sorensen, Melvin Froendt, Virgil Hoffman, Robert Kelley and Ralph Pedersen.

Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery with Donovan-Leyson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
