Donald E. Baker Sr., age 79, of Griffith, IN passed away Friday, September 19, 2014. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Margaret (nee Coulter); two children: Terry (Don) Smith and Donald Baker Jr.; two grandsons: Jason (Amanda) Smith and Justin (Fiancee Katie) Smith; two great grandchildren: Violet and Joshua Smith; two brothers: Jerry Baker and Rick (Vickie) Baker; two sisters: Joann Wimer and Peggy Parker; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his parents: Stanley and Nell Baker. Pastor Jason Jones officiating. Interment at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Mr. Baker was retired from Inland Steel ( 80 Inch Hot Strip) with 38 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
