Herald Journal, The (Logan, UT) - March 9, 2001. Deceased Name: Josephine Olson. Josephine Joyce Baker Bronson Olson passed away peacefully, the result of a second stroke, Thursday March 8, 2001, at the Logan Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Josephine was born in Mendon, Utah, Aug. 15, 1931, to Fern Walker and William Melvin Baker, the seventh of 10 children. She was reared and educated in Mendon and Tremonton, Utah, graduating from Mendon Elementary and Bear River High School. Josephine married Theron Lynn Bronson June 20, 1949, and together they had three children. Lynn died in an automobile accident Sept. 3, 1953. She married Doyle Sheldon Olson Sept 29, 1960, and they together had six children. Josephine was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and showed her great love for each of them. She will always be remembered for her love, compassion and selfless service to her family. She loved to sit in the sunshine, it was warm like her heart. Some of the great attributes she possessed were quilting, cooking, bowling, raising roses and growing summer vegetables, ballroom dancing, and she loved watching her children and grandchildren in sports and activities. She was a great Aggie and Jazz fan and she loved day trips to the Utah Noodle in Ogden. The greatest love in her life was The Church of Jesus Christ. She served in many callings - she taught Primary, served in many Relief Society and Young Women presidencies, was a visiting teacher all her life and never turned down a calling. She loved to work in the temple.

Josephine is survived by her husband of 41 years, Doyle S. Olson; children, Douglas (Tona) Bronson, Lewiston, Eloise Bronson Ogden, Preston, Lynda (Barry) Labrum, Oregon, Tammra Olson Hyer, Hyde Park, Holley Olson and Boyd Tuttle, Japan, Sheldon (Ronda) Olson, Ogden, Cecilia "CeCe" Smith and Troy Richman, Logan, Rolan (Stefani) Olson, Logan, Courtney (Joanne) Olson, Pittsburgh, Pa., Ryan Paul Olson, Logan; also 36 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; her brothers and sisters, Melvin (Anna) Baker, Elva Goodsell, Vaudis Hammond, Loudell Reese, Lillie May Thomas, Louella (Ivan) Hall, LaMar (Vivian) Baker, Richard (Georgia) Baker, Ila (Clyde) Jardine; stepsisters, Norma Johnson, Vesta Flandro, Elva Huck and stepbrother, Floyd Kunz.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Theron Lynn Bronson; two sons, Michael Lynn Bronson and infant son, Jody Darin Olson; her sister, Mary Alta Reese, and step-brothers, Eldon, Clenton, and Lloyd Kunz. Funeral services will be held at noon Monday in Logan 3rd Ward LDS Chapel, 250 N. 400 West, with Bishop Carling conducting. The viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Allen-Hall Mortuary (435) 752-3245), 34 E. Center St., Logan, Utah 84321, and from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Monday at the church. Husband, Doyle S.
