Katie Lou, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Thursday at Christus St. Mary Hospital. She was born to Jack and Chole Comfort. A lifelong resident of Port Arthur she attended DeQueen Elementary, Woodrow Wilson, Thomas Jefferson High School and Port Arthur Business College. She was retired from Fina as the plant manager's secretary with thirty years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mel Baker and son, Steve Baker. Survivors include her daughters, Susan Baker; Becky Thomas and husband, George; grandchildren, Chera Latiolais, Amber Conner, Shayna Thomas, Mindy Marse, Ashley Baker; four great grandsons and two great granddaughters; cousin, Charles Comfort; sisters- in-law, Mattie Lou Huckabay, Beulah Baker and sister-in-friendship and faith, Kathryn Messina.
