Rites to Be Held For Dean L. Bair
Funeral services for Dean L. Bair, 69, owner of the Colonial Chemical Co., will be held at 10:30 o'clock tomorrow in the Home Undertaking chapel. Cremation will follow.
Mr. Bair died Sunday at his home, 4327 Bagley Av. He had operated the chemical company since 1927. He first came here in 1911 and was one of the founders of the Seattle Retail Credit Bureau.
- In War Service -
Mr. Bair was manager and a member of the board of trustees and also a former president of the Fraser-Patterson department store. During the First World War he was in charge of spruce production for aircraft here and was cited for his service.
After the First World War, Mr. Bair went to New York and was comptroller and treasurer of a corporation until he went to Vancouver, B.C., in 1922. He was general manager of the Victory Flouring Mills in Vancouver until he returned to Seattle in 1924.
- In Oil Burner Business -
Mr. Bair was in the oil-burner business briefly before he established the chemical firm. During the Second World War he was an investigator for the War Production Board.
Mr. Bair was a member of Masonic organizations in New York City.
Surviving are his wife, Glee; a daughter, Mrs. Charles F. Boykin, Seattle; two sons, William Dean Bair, Seattle, and WArner B. Bair, Independence, Mo., and seven grandchildren.
