Eli Franklin Baily, 96 years, well known Cumberland Township resident, died suddenly Saturday, December 27, 1958, in his home at Carmichaels, R.D. 1. Death was due to cerebral hemorrhage. He was a son of Joseph T. Martha Jane Lee Baily, and was born September 19, 1862 in Jefferson Township, Fayette County.

Mr. Baily, who had resided in Greene County since the age of two, was very proud of his record as a voter. He had missed voting at only one election and that one time he was to ill to get out of bed. He went to the polls in November, despite the fact that he was ill. He was a retired dairy farmer, a business he engaged in for more than 30 years. Mr. Baily was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Carmichaels and of the Carmichaels Grange. His wife, Mary Adamson Baily, died in 1931.

Surviving are two sons, Rudy Baily of Carmichaels and Joseph Baily of East Millsboro; two daughters, Misses Anna and Garnet Baily, both at home; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Two sons, J. Ralph Baily and Norval Baily are deceased. Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Condit Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Alfred Deemer. Interment in Laurel Point Cemetery.
