A native of Bartow County, Mrs. Atkins was born January 31, 1930. She was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church.
Mrs. Atkins was preceded in death by her father, M. G. Bailey.
She is survived by her husband, Cecil Atkins of Rockmart; her mother, Mrs. Isabelle Brock Bailey of Rockmart; three sons, James R. Atkins and Tim Atkins, both of Rockmart, and Stanley Atkins of Marietta; three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Sorrells of Union Point; Mrs. Linda Wolfe of Rockmart and Mrs. Dianne Waddell of Chamblee.
Six grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 26, at 3 p.m. at the New Prospect Baptist Church. The Rev. Owen Davis Jr., the Rev. George Phillips and the Rev. Charles Cornwell officiated. Interment was in the Aragon Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Charles Mears, Marty Compton, Glenn and Ricky Sorrells, William Bowman and Scott Atkins.
The Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
