Mrs. W.S. Bailey, 87, pioneer resident of Orth community where she had lived 50 years, died at midnight.
She died at the home of her son with whom she had lived for years: W.F. Bailey of Orth, president of the Fort Belknap Rural Electric Cooperative.
Mrs. Bailey was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Young of Kentucky.
After coming to Texas, she married Mr. Bailey at Rhome, Wise County, Texas in 1882. The couple moved west and to Young County in 1892. He became an early day rancher and farmer of Young County.
Survived by her son - W.F. Bailey; three brothers - Mrs. M.R. Smedley of Olney, Virgil Young of Bowie, C.M. Young of Fort Worth, Fred Young of Megargel; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
