KOREAN WAR VETERAN

Donald James Bailey was born in Cudahy, Wisconsin on 1 April 1933. Donald's parents are Manford James Bailey and Edith Ann Armbruster. Donald had three known siblings, Blanche Lorraine, Jean Louise, and Richard Allen Bailey.

He served in the Army from 1950 to 1954. (No verification of his service has yet been found) He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with a Bronze Star and the United Nations Service Medal.

He later worked as a pipefitter at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, retiring in 1978.

On 6 September 1958, he married Virginia Irene Kimble, in Port Orchard, Washington. Together they had four known children. On 4 December 1970 they divorced in Kitsap County, Washington.

One month and twenty five days after his divorce, on 29 January 1971, he married Donna Joan (McGlothlen) Barrett in Kitsap County, Washington. Together they had one known child. She preceded him in death in 1998.

He enjoyed pets, restoring Volkswagen "bugs," woodworking and gardening. He was a member of Grace Bible Church in Port Orchard.

At the age of sixty nine, on 28 June 2002, Donald passed away, from a heart attack, in Bremerton, Washington. He is survived by his three sons, Jim and Donald Jr., both, and Bob; two daughters, Kathy, and Patty ; a brother, Richard; three sisters, Blanche , Jean and Deloris ; and 11 grandchildren, Casey, Sondra, Scott, James, Janelle, Roger, Jessilyn, Debra, Jimmy Jr., Briannen and Tyler. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ellen rae , in 1981.
