Robert C. Bailey, 83, of Indianapolis, passed away on June 13, 2012. Born on October 10, 1928 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Sanford and Bertha (Wooton) Bailey, he was a member of the Indiana Army National Guard.
He retired from US Rubber after 33 years of dedication, and at age 68, started driving a truck for Willoughby Trucking.
Robert loved to travel, and had owned numerous new Oldsmobiles. He adored and loved to spoil his special dogs, Annie and Chipper.
Robert is survived by his daughters, Mary Alice Martin and Sara Lee (Larry) Browning; son, Sanford (Laurie) Bailey; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth M. Bailey; and sister, Flossie Elmore
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, June 15 at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, IN. Prayers will be conducted at 9:15 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2905 Carson Avenue, Indianapolis.
Robert will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
