Ms. Steenbergen died Monday, October 23, 2006. Born in Ashland, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Bert Felix Baer and Margaret Naomi Sloan Baer. Formerly of Ironton, Ohio, she had been a local resident here since 1976. Ms. Steenbergen was a member of Columbia First Church of the Nazarene for 30 years and a former Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, walking and dancing with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Charles Reese of Lexington; sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Vanessa Steenbergen of Atlanta, GA., Ron and Laura Steenbergen of Hamilton, OH., Dirk and Ruth Steenbergen of Valley, AL.; brothers, Melvin Baer of Ashland, KY., Charles Baer and George Baer both of Burlington, N.C., and Leslie Baer of Flatwoods, KY; eight grandchildren, Maggie and Michael Reese, Amy Steenbergen, Michaela and Zack Steenbergen, Jonathan E. Steenbergen, Landon and Mallory Steenbergen;
