AGUER, Ann Edmund (Badger) - Passed away at her Santa Rosa home on Sunday, November 4, 2007. Beloved wife for 38 years of Pierre Aguer of Santa Rosa. Cherished mother of Stephanie Ann Diaz, George Sanford Kurty and Michael Christian Kurty. Step mother of Denise Aguer Jones and Andre Aguer. Daughter of the late George Thaddeus and Nancy Johnson Badger and sister of the late Mitzi Edmund Church. Grandmother of Maegan Diaz and Thomas Kurty. Step grandmother of Baily Jones, Colter Jones, AJ Aguer and Paige Aguer. Also survived by her dear friends Corey Isaacson of Santa Rosa and Mary Wallace of Fairfield. Ann was born in Indianapolis, IN September 24, 1936. Ann's extensive education continued her whole life, and included attending Miami University in Ohio, San Diego State University, San Jose State University (BA Criminology), Sonoma State University, and University of San Francisco where she acquired a Masters Degree in Non-Profit Business Administration Ann and her family moved to Santa Rosa from San Jose in 1972. She kept very active with career, family and public office. She worked as an advertising clerk for the Press Democrat in the early 70's and then became an Advertising Manager for a major local employer known as NCI. Ann made a career change in the 1980's when she became deeply involved with alcohol/drug recovery programs. Ann became Executive Director of 'The Unique Place' in the late 1980's and played a primary role in their expansion into what is known today as 'Women's Recovery Services'. In 1998 she relocated to Suisun City where she became Executive Director at Solano Women's Crisis Center. At each organization, Ann broadened reach and expanded services to women who suffered from alcohol and/drug abuse. Hundreds of women have had successful recovery because of Ann's work. She finally retired in 2001, but still consulted and assisted with a new service program for the Fairfield-Vacaville area called "Family Focus". Ann's civic and public offices include Coddingtown Lioness Club, Governor's Task Force on Self Esteem, and Council on Prenatal Dependency. Her many awards include a Life Membership in Canine Companions for Independence (purchased in her honor by The Lions Club), The Lioness Club Humanitarian-Of-The-Year (1991-1992), and YWCA's 'Woman-Of-Achievement for 1992'. She was a regular speaker/ presenter at many community service clubs in Solano County Ann was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking, did a lot of crochet, and she cherished her time with family especially during Holiday Seasons. Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Ann's life on Friday, November 16, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 1550 Pacific Ave., Santa Rosa.
