BROOKS --Janet L. Bacon, 60, of Brooks, died unexpectedly Sept. 29, 2004.
Born in Skowhegan on April 19, 1944, she was the daughter of Irvin and Alta Curtis Turner Sr.
For many years Janet worked for Home Health Care and enjoyed taking care of the elderly. She also loved her job taking special needs children to school either, riding the bus with them or driving them herself. Janet enjoyed crocheting, collecting owls and loved to yard sale. Her grandsons were her life and meant everything to her. They will miss her very much.

She was predeceased by her husband James Bacon on June 8, 2003; a son, LeBaron James Bacon in 1970; and two brothers, Irving "Skeeter" Turner and Irvin Turner Jr.

Janet is survived by her mother, Alta Fernald of Augusta; two sons, Linwood M. Walker Sr. and his wife, Tammy, of Etna and James L. Walker and his wife, Mary, of Burnham; three sisters, Jacquline Overlock and her husband, Keith, of Freedom, Sue Phillips and her husband, Gary, of Winslow, Marilyn Arbo and her husband, Scott, of New York; three grandsons, Linwood M. Walker Jr., Matthew Warren and Jeffery Thomas all of Etna; two nieces and two nephews, Alan and Craig Overlock of Freedom, Lorie Knissen of Virginia Beach, Va., and Ashley Arbo of New York; a great-niece and great-nephew, Kaitlin and Matthew Leavitt of Troy; and a very special family member, Melvin "Mal" Harriman of Brooks.

Combined services for Janet and James Bacon was held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, at Pond Cemetery in Unity. Visitation was held Monday, Oct. 4, at Rackliffe Funeral Home.
