Funeral services for Mrs. Carl Bacon, 61, who died at her home near Glennville Tuesday after a short illness, were held at 3 p.m. at Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Henry Hodges and the Elder J.W. Durrence. Burial was in the church cemetery.
She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Wells of Evans County.
Survivors are her husband, Carl Bacon of Glennville; one daughter, Mrs. Harold Burkhalter of Glennville; one son, Harvey Bacon of Glennville; three sisters, Mrs. M.W. Wedlock, Mrs. S.O. Brannen and Mrs. Della Durrence, all of Glennville; one brother, Lucious Wells of Savannah; a step-mother, Mrs. Ada Wells Roach of Glennville.
Pallbearers were nephews, Thurman Brannen, Everett Durrence, Hugh Wells, Larry Banks, Adger Kicklighter and Revis Banks. Honorary pallbearers were Luther Durrence, Ben Brannen, L.W. Durrence, G.F. Sikes, Carlos Blocker, Slaton Durrence, Otis Howard, Dr. A.G. Pinkston, Dr. H.M. Mishoe, Joe Brown Durrence, George Brannen, C.W. Kicklighter, Hugh Driggers and Ronald Brannen.
