Margaret Ann Higel Bachmann, 56, Sarasota, died April 19, 2002, when she was hit by a car on Waldemere Street.
She was born June 8, 1945, in Sarasota and was a legal secretary for many lawyers in Venice and Sarasota for 35 years. She was a 1963 graduate of Venice High School and a member of American Legion No-Vel Post 159 and VFW Auxiliary 3233. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Venice.
Survivors include her husband, Howard "Chip;" her mother, Frances Higel of Venice; a sister, Joyce Norton of Venice; and brothers Ron Higel and Gary Higel, both of Venice.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Gulf Gate Chapel. A service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Gulf Gate Chapel. Burial will be in Jessie Knight Cemetery, Nokomis. Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel, is in charge.
